Why Changing My Name Back Was The Most Exciting Part Of Divorce


When I got married I gave up my maiden name with abandon.


Despite identifying as a feminist, I delighted in the tradition of having the same surname as my husband, purposefully striding to the bank, marriage certificate in-hand as I proudly requested new debit cards.


In the run up to the wedding, one of the things I looked forward to most was my new identity as a Mrs Someone.
